fidesquaerens, comes from a sort of motto popular in medieval Christian philosophy: fides quaerens intellectum. That's usually translated as "faith seeking understanding," but that translation is as unhelpful as it is pithy. I take it to mean that I have faith in something I cannot explain, but that I am not satisfied with that state and so am driven to find something more. An expansion of sorts.
Plus, it's a nice way to be quirky and geeky in my daily life.
