Date: 2019-10-24 08:07 pm (UTC)It's not too graphic I don't think, but it's Pippin I'm doing this to! And because in my memory hobbits fandom is much more averse to dark themes, I am cringing a bit. Then I remember Pippin watching Denethor falling into madness in the book, and then rushing through the city to find Beregond and dealing with the pyre, and THEN finding Merry, and that's without even dipping into the Silmarillion. Gives me the courage to not hold back, you know?

Date: 2019-10-24 08:37 pm (UTC)That’s wonderful! I fully agree with you. Hobbits are tough as nails, and Pippin’s journey in particular was a pretty harrowing coming of age. I personally dislike when they’re written in a cutesy or patronizing way. I look forward to reading your story.
