Sep. 22nd, 2015 12:54 amI've discovered a new favorite kind of toast. It's basically French toast, only you actually put it in the oven rather than the griddle.
Take a bread with some heft to it, like a roll or a hero, and push it down into a bowl of egg, salt and pepper. The point is to get the bread to absorb as much egg as possible. Then use something to give it a buttery flavor (good luck getting actual butter to coat soppy bread, but those butter-flavored cooking sprays do nicely), and top with a little cheese or other goodies. Bake on 350 for about 7-10 minutes so the bread gets toasty and the egg inside gets cooked.
I'm fairly sure it's awful for you, but it's a really nice comfort food and simple to boot.
