First, the bad. I slipped on a half-finished entry ramp at a corner bodega today and twisted my ankle royally. I'm at the urgent care facility downstairs (some good things about working with doctors!), and also had it looked at and iced by our therapist this morning.

It hurts royally but doesn't feel like a break, more likely a bad sprain. But I did circle a #9 on the pain chart for the first time ever, and I'm glad to have a place I can have it looked at.

The good: I got a care package from Dottie, essentially an adopted grandmum from over in Germany, belated for my birthday, including a very bright piece of cross-stitch. So I have a sunny piece of cloth taped around a cardboard stand on my desk. Also a piece of fudge for me and a piece to share, as per family custom. :-)

Also in the good news department, I've been thinking about a canon Doyle story I'd like to write, in rather definite detail. Basically Holmes and Irene discussing the nature of scandal and it's risks. Set around the time of "Three Students" and those certain events of 1895 that compelled Holmes and Watson to spend some time outside of London.

The important thing, I think, is that I feel like writing. Even if I have no time. :-)

Oh, ouch! My mom claims that a badly sprained ankle hurts worse than a broken one (she's had both).

Ouch. I've never broken an ankle but had several strains ... not so much fun ... but ice is good. I hope you feel better soon.

Wow - either one hurts like $%^&*, so I hope it's not too badly done. Sprains heal quicker, though.

But yay for the story idea. I'll be watching out for it.
