How well do you know your LOTR characters? Specifically how often they're named in the text?

Basically you type in the names (sans diacriticals as far as I can tell) and try to get as many as you can within a certain timeframe. I managed forty-five of the fifty but some of them were much trickier than you'd think. I'm not too ashamed of the fact I missed (put behind a cut for the folks taking the quiz themselves) Hamfast Gamgee, Ugluk, Durin, Arathorn, and Gorbag - with the exception of the Dunedain one that I really should have typed in and am half convinced I did (typo, maybe?), those aren't omissions I have any right to be embarrassed over missing.

45 is awesome! I took this quiz the other day and got 43, which made me happy.

OMG, I thought I was a big fan but only got 31...*cries* The Hobbit movies are messing me up; I kept trying to pick all the dwarves! I'm sad I missed Shadowfax! :)

I got 35 - of course I wanted information they weren't giving before I started, like "does this include the Appendices or only the main text?" and "when you say 'Lord of the Rings series', are you including The Hobbit?"

- I mean, without The Hobbit does Thorin really make it in there? I'm slightly surprised. Also surprised no Halbarad, nor Gilraen, nor Radagast, nor Cirdan. But kicking myself for some obvious ones, like getting Bill the Pony but missing Shadowfax, and getting Gildor Inglorion but forgetting Glorfindel!
