Tree + Flower Awards

I'm really a bad LJer and fandom member these days apparently, because some of my Tolkien fanfic was nominated for Many Path to Tread's (i.e. lotr_community's) Tree and Flower Awards award. Specifically:

Beneath a Bitter Rain in the Favorite Story ft. Dwarves category.

The War of the Ring did not only affect Gondor and Rohan. A look at the aftermath of the assault on Erebor and Dale. 867 words; Gen.

Apple Bruised Makes Apple Pie in the Favorite Characterization of Bilbo category.

After being injured at the end of the Five Armies, Bilbo receives some much needed care. Also ft. Galion. 2658 words; Teen.

Ea in the Favorite Characterization of Sauron category

"What do you think science is, at its root, but the pursuit of the spark that birthed the cosmos? We would be heretics, each and every one, were there room for heresy in truth." A conversation between Celebrimbor and Sauron in Eregion. 1271 words; Gen.

Girded in the Favorite Characterization of a Resident of Doriath category.

A conversation between Galadriel and Melian, on the nature of safety. 540 words; Gen.

and When We Were Very Young in the Favorite Characterization of a Numenorean category.

I can honestly say that I hope I don't win a single one of those because I am running against some really well-done stories that I would hate to beat. Of course if I win I'll be chuffed as well so this is really a win-win.

I'll try to wade through the threads where people nominated things so I can properly thank whomever nominated me, but I was touched particularly given how far I've fallen out of the Tolkien world. All evidence to the contrary I'm trying to work myself back into it a bit, and this is a big mark of faith in me that felt really nice. So thank you.
