That's so fun. *grin* And it's just natural to him. I really like him (and not just his politics). If he wasn't famous, wasn't a politician, he'd still be fun to talk to in the elevator or standing next to in a grocery line.

We all know Stephen Colbert is a geek, but the first time I realized GMA co-anchor Josh Elliot was also one was when he questioned Colbert at some red carpet thing and the first thing he wanted to talk about was The Hobbit (this was before AUJ came out). He's dropped some other subtle (and not so subtle) hints after that. Since then I keep my ears open for signs of geekiness from unexpected people.

It's always such fun when you realize someone famous and influential is One of Us. I still look at pictures of Colbert doing various Tolkien things (like that wonderful interview when James Franco challenged hm to name 'just two of the Valar' [starting around 5:10]. It just made me smile because not only was it validating of my level of geekishness, it was just such fun since I knew exactly why he got so excited.

So, yeah. I hear you on that one.
