[livejournal.com profile] lindahoyland has a lovely story, "The King's Holiday."

After the stress of officiating the official March celebrations (his birthday, Battle of Pelennor Fields anniversary, the new year, etc.), Arwen insists that Aragorn and Faramir get themselves out of the city. And they do. One part lovely friendship, one part Henry V. I loved all the original characters here, so well-drawn with realistic (and not always wholly positive or wholly accurate) ideas about what it's like to be king. And the scene at the end with the Prancing Pony tie-in will stay with me for a while, I'm sure. Just lovely all-around.

Do read it if you haven't already.

I loved that story, too! It's one of Linda's best, I think!

I haven't read nearly enough of hers to make that kind of a determination - I read so few novels. But it really is quite lovely, isn't it?

Thank you so much. Your kind words about my story have really made my day and brightened a dreary winter day no end!
