Bazinga! Series three finale party at La Casa Marta tomorrow night. Unplanned, but not at all unwelcome, as the case may be.

The real question, which I also asked over at FB but am still open to more ideas on: just what do you serve to friends gathering to share their tears?

Comfort food, of course! British comfort food would be perfect.

I rather think comfort will be in order. What do Brits count as comfort foods, besides tea of course?

Some of those should be doable. Thanks.

If you haven't ever made it, custard is very easy. Also you might be able to find some British crackers or biscuits locally (I love digestive biscuits).

A friend over at FB suggested fish fingers and custard, in their own dishes, for the Moffat connection. I've never tried custard specifically, but I'm sure it's more or less like pudding, which I can do easily enough.

There's a specialty store on the next block where I get French and Belgian chocolate for baking, and my roommate gets Eastern European specialty items. They may have British stuff as well. If nothing else I can get shortbread and Kitkats, which are close enough to what we dunked in our tea in the UK that I wouldn't notice. I'm kind of thankful there will be between 10-15 people needing snacks, because there are lots of fun ideas to try out.

I'm going to one here in Chicago and I'm bringing a big bag of Goldfish crackers.

Clever, that. Also easy. I may just add it to the list.

Pillows. Pillows are the most important thing. You can hug a pillow, bite it, smash your face in it, cry in it, a pillow is your best friend in case of feels.
When I showed my friends The End of Time part 1 and 2 a few months ago after introducing them to the first four seasons of New Who, I made sure each of them had pillow. They couldn't thank me enough.

You make it sound like being a happening frood who knows where her towel is. The thing is, I rather suspect you're right. I've rounded up pillows and afghans to have on hand.
