[livejournal.com profile] sevenswells has made a really touching fanvid set around "The Sign of Three." Watch it and leave her a comment here.

This can be read as either friendship or slash, I think (more or less unrequited). It also gets at my feelings better than most fan-works I've seen, on why Johnlock is a serious, canon-based interpretation of the BBC canon and not just the result of lusting a little too hard over Benedict Cumberbatch. Even if I didn't see it myself, compilations like this would convince me it deserves to be taken seriously and respected, just like any other fan's read on these characters. As it is, this brought a tear to my eyes. And as I've recently explained, I'm hardly blind to the... bad fanfic tendencies of the current series, TSOT included.

Wow thank you for the rec, I'm so flattered!!!

Thank you! It's almost a "presented without comment" vid because I actually did veeery very little editing, the song is the only thing that sort of "taints" it with interpretation, but other than that, it's pretty much just... text. And it was indeed a choice on my part, to show that if you strip everything else and slap on the right song, it brings to light what's really shown to us: a relationship that goes much deeper and with more implication that all the "NO HOMO" bullshit -- if that makes sense.

Thanks again, I'm so happy you liked it!!

And here I am having my Anderson moment, from the minisode. Can't you see - it's obvious!

Or, at the very least, obvious how someone else could see, even if it's not what you see. It's obvious to me, in any case. And the frustratin thing is, this series of all series, it's just not at all necessary. John's getting married and to someone who's utterly charming - did Moffat think we wouldn't get the message that he was taking their relationship in another direction? Was it really necessary to have John yell at Mrs. Hudson that he wasn't gay?

On your video: I really did like it. Thanks for putting this together.
