In other news, in case you didn't notice I changed my LJ name. Part childhood nickname, part veiled Arthur Conan Doyle reference, and (I can only hope) much more spellable than the last one.

So do I, Barbara. I've always had kind of a love hate relationship with the old name - it was a big part of who I was at one point but even so not the most approachable to people who didn't share that part of my life. And as I'm trying to move on a bit from that....

I wouldn't have known the reference without Sherlock fanfic, actually. Or I knew it at one point but it's long since been lost in those boarded-up wings of my mind palace. I love that there's an overlap between the show + books and my own childhood nickname.
