Over at FB, several people took this meme testing where we fall on a political spectrum. My results:

The test brags that “Unlike many other political tests found on the Internet which base themselves on untested (and usually ideologically motivated) ideas, this inventory is adapted from Hans Eysenck’s own political inventory which was developed after extensive empirical investigations in the 20th Century.”

And that explains a lot because some of the questions are… oddly phrased. I looked him up, and while I can’t find the exact date the survey was edited, Eysenck did publish a book about his political ideology spectrum in 1956. Eysenck was born and raised in Germany but came to the UK in the early 1930s, so this test came out of the whole post-WWII political scene. He was also an immigrant and had a hard time getting a professor position at first, mainly because of his German background.

Maybe because of this, I found some of the questions seriously odd. But the results were more interesting than most of these memes, though.

That was interesting (and fairly accurate, except I would say 'cynical' rather than 'suspicious and unsympathetic attitude', and the idealism is sort of faded into cynicism too *g*)
