betas needed

I’m looking for someone to help me read over stories before posting them, both the gift fics that I’m currently working on and for BMEM which is fast approaching. Linda Hoyland has agreed to check me for Britishisms where I need it, but I’d love to find someone who can give me some feedback over whether characters “feel” right and also check for typos and word choice issues. I have a learning disability which makes it hard for me to self-edit those things.

So far I’m looking for people who know the following fandoms:

• Gift-fics: Swordspoint, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Star Trek: DS9


• BMEM: The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion.

 

If you’re interested in helping me out, please comment here and email me at mlaytonATfordhamDOTedu. You don’t have to read every story if you’re only comfortable with certain fandoms. The biggest thing is an availability to read a 500-1,000 word fic within a day or two, fairly regularly, and get it back to me with comments, and be comfortable if I decide not to use some of them. We can discuss things more fully one-on-one.

Also, if you’d like a gift-fic, don’t forget to request it here. I can do another request or two.
