The man who taught me how to mix grooving with sadness and regret has died. It’s particularly sad that he’s dying at this time of year, since this is classic Brubeckian weather. It’s great to sit around in December/January and sip tea and just read or grade as I listen to him.

I heard this yesterday and immediately pulled up my copy of "Time Out" on my Nano and started listening to some of the best jazz EVER again. I've adored his music throughout my life and will always cherish the legacy he left for us.
