Yesterday Dreamflower mentioned this was one of her favorite Christmas carols. Since it’s a standard hymn on the first week of Advent, I thought I’d share my favorite version.

Personally, my favorite hymn from this first week is “Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus.” YouTube doesn’t have a version of this that doesn’t make me cringe, musically, but here’s a Spotify recording by David Nevue, the artist who performed and arranged the song above. You’ll need a Spotify account to listen, but it’s free.

In other news, why is there so little David Nevue music on YouTube? That man is a seriously underappreciated pianist IMO.

Out of curiosity, which one?

I'm glad I could share the love in any case.

Oh, thank you dear! I love both those carols, actually, though for Advent the first one always comes to my mind first. I love the low-key slow and thoughtful melody.

I'm not familiar with that artist--another thanks for bringing him to my attention. I'm going to add his name to my Pandora station.
