looking for a Tolkien reference

There's a quote in the appendices of LOTR I'm looking for but can't find. It's about a monument in the land that eventually became Harad, specifically the site of a monument marking where Sauron had surrendered to Ar-Pharazon. I think the reference pops up in the later history of Gondor, perhaps after the Kinslaying when Castamir's folks leave Gondor and settle in Harad. But for the life of me I can't find the referece, and I need to know all I can about what eventually happened to the monument.
Anyone know the passage and where I can find it?

Perhaps it's a UK copyright issue?
[Edit: And that just *happened* to be the example you used?? :>) ]
