Leonard Pitts, columnist for the Miami Herald, has some interesting thoughts about Lin-sanity and the way the African-American community is reacting to it. I rarely if ever agree completely with anything I read, but this one had me nodding my head far more than most. While Mr. Pitts is writing specifically to African-Americans, I think this is a point well taken for all races.

Leonard Pitts always writes thoughtful articles. He's one of the columnists I like to read even when I don't agree with him, and this was an especially good column. I'm glad you posted the link.

I had the pleasure of hearing him speak at the local college here a few years ago. He's a good speaker too. Hmm, now you have me wondering how popular he is among Tolkien fans.
