Someone posted a picture like this to the Philosophy Smoker blog a while back (around the time of our annual conference where most people get their first job interview), as a kind of mascot. One of the comments cracked me up and struck stuck with me:

 

That cat is wearing a flashy tie. Disqualified!

Also, the lack of pants is not encouraging.

His ideas about Descartes intrigue me, however.

 

Looks like I’m one step closer to that interview. The first draft of my proposal is completely edited and ready to be sent off tomorrow at a more decent hour. Huzzah! I promise I’ll remember the trousers, which should put me at least head and paws above this little guy.
