I officially have an Owie with a capital O. I knocked a large can off the top cupboard shelf directly onto my foot. It hurts pretty constantly, but especially if I put any pressure on the metatarsals. I'm icing it and taking it easy, about to try to get some sleep. If it's not better tomorrow I'll try to find an emergency care clinic or something to get it checked out.

Which is, you know, painful. But also frustrating. I really was hoping to stay out of the ER for a while.

In other words, is there anyone who doesn't have a Kindle but wants one? I just got a Kindle Fire for Christmas, and would like to give the old one to a good home. Email me if you're interested. I'm not sure what version it is exactly, but it looks like the Kindle Keyboard 3G. I've lost the charger but you can buy a new one for about $10. (It just uses a micro USB cable plugged into a computer.) It's in decent condition for two years' use, if you just want to read books; it just didn't meet my needs anymore.

Oh, golly! I do hope that your foot gets better soon. I did the can on the foot thing myself many years ago, and I KNOW how badly that hurts!

(((hugs)))

Ouch! Keep your foot elevated and iced. What you did is a good way to crack bones and that hurts (been there, done that). I hope you feel much better soon.

It's actually a fractured bone, so soon meaning today or tomorrow is out of the picture. But it is in the middle of the foot so it's not as painful as it could be. Thanks, though!

Well, I'm glad to know I'm at least doing the management-recommended method. :-) Best practices, and all that. I did fracture a bone and thoroughly bruised the rest of the foot so I'm pretty much stuck in the house for a week on mandatory resting. But it could have been worse, if there weren't strong bones on either side to support it.

That made me laugh! I'm sure Olwe would be a great chess partner. Siting by the beach with the wind in my hair, my foot propped up on pillows as I get thoroughly trounced in that game actually sounds kind of nice.

Darn, I was hoping that you got lucky and only got bruised. I'm so sorry. Having foot pains makes all movement difficult and putting on shoes next to impossible. Continue the ice, 10 minutes at a time every 30-45 minutes to keep your swelling under control and you might want to try an epson bath for your foot after a day or two at night.

Oh man! Broken! I didn't have a fracture, but boy-o-boy the top of my foot was literally black and blue! A fracture must be even worse! ((more hugs))
