In Honor of Poetry Month...
Apr. 20th, 2011 07:51 amSomeone told me April is national poetry month. So in honor of that, have two Tolkien poems. Both involving Sam Gamgee, though that's incidental.
First, the Professor himself singing the Troll song. I would have loved to have been his kid, just to grow up around that kind of thing.

Also: the Fall of Gil-Galad, as performed in the BBC adaptation of The Lord of the Rings. As I am currently (as in, it's what I think about when I'm putting off real work) writing a diptych involving Elrond and Gil-Galad, this poem has a special place in my heart.
