I can't even BEGIN to fathom the thought processes of people like this; I grew up in the Deep South where for some people, racism was as unconscious as breathing (and am related by blood to some of them) and yet there was not this *disconnect* between reality and uh, I don't know what to call it? unreality?
And yet nowadays I hear people spouting the most ridiculous conspiracy theories as if they are accepted fact. I never know WHAT to say to them that would even make a dent. Seriously.
