Oh, I like this! I'm rereading T.H. White's The Once and Future King, and your Radagast is very reminiscent of White's Merlin (and Disney's, of course, in the film version, The Sword in the Stone.)

So Radagast sat with him, and listened to the songs of the forest: the wind in the trees, the chatter of sparrows flitting around and singing to no one at all.

Beautiful, peaceful imagery there. Just lovely. And I love that you've incorporated Beorn, as Radagast's kindred spirit.

Why play the fool, why betray your nobility?

Ah, an intriguing question, the perfect one for your characterization of Radagast. A very thought-provoking ficlet!
