looking for a Tolkien reference

There's a quote in the appendices of LOTR I'm looking for but can't find. It's about a monument in the land that eventually became Harad, specifically the site of a monument marking where Sauron had surrendered to Ar-Pharazon. I think the reference pops up in the later history of Gondor, perhaps after the Kinslaying when Castamir's folks leave Gondor and settle in Harad. But for the life of me I can't find the referece, and I need to know all I can about what eventually happened to the monument.

Anyone know the passage and where I can find it?

I do all that, but the 'copy' option doesn't appear - just 'highlight' 'add note' 'search' and 'more'.

*Sigh*

Perhaps it's a UK copyright issue?

[Edit: And that just *happened* to be the example you used?? :>) ]

Oh, dear, perhaps it is. Bother.

(Well, it was in my mind; I wrote a B/T drabble inspired by it just the other day...)

*waves to Marta* Hi! Sorry for hijacking your journal!

No worries! Glad to provide a place for a "meeting of minds."

Also: now you must give us a link to the B/T drabble...)

LJ is being very wiggy for me at the moment! It took me ages to get this window to open. But my drabble is just two posts back, not hard to find at all.
